Preston Lions F.C - Social Media Policy

In line with Football Victoria's Spectator Code of Conduct and their social media policies, Preston Lions would like to reiterate our social media policy as it extends to Preston Lions, Football Victoria and competing clubs within our competition.

Our social media policy provides a framework for the conduct of our members, supporters or participants on social media relating to our club.

Social media is a place where people exchange information, opinions and experiences to learn, develop and have fun.

Whether a member, supporter or participant, this policy provides practical advice to avoid issues that might arise by careless use of social media that will result in suspension and removal from our club.

Scope
We expect all our members, supporters and participants to follow this policy.

Policy elements
“Social media” refers to any online content posted publicly by an individual on any online platform, including by video, text or audio. This policy covers all of them.

Using social media
We advise our members, supporters and participants to;
- Use their common sense.
- Avoid any defamatory, offensive or derogatory content. It may be considered as a violation of our policy if directed towards other members, supporters, participants or the Club in general.

Representing our Club
Be respectful and polite when engaging in conversations or posting Do not make representations or statements that purport to represent the views of Preston Lions Football Club Never post discriminatory, offensive or libelous content and commentary Correct or remove any misleading or false content as quickly as possible Directing offensive comments towards other members of the online community

Disciplinary Consequences
Preston Lions Football Club will monitor all social media postings on our accounts.

We will take disciplinary action including the suspension or removal of individuals from our accounts and the club if members, supporters and participants do not follow this policy’s guidelines.
